Responses from post 'bout Tanner'sDevil Part 2

anon1 & Shai: the ending was rather rushed, but I'm working out the kinks and I'll remember show don't tell. Thank you. I will address all the unanswered questions in the final version.

I changed the book cover AGAIN until I find the cover I'm happy with. This is just a mediocre version, but can't find the couple that I need or want on the cover.

Responses to Post from the Ending of Tanner's Devil

(taking a bow)

Whew!

That's over and finished and now I am breaking until the end of April. Yes, I know that 's a long time, but I need to concentrate on a lot of projects that are in the works as we speak.

F.Y.I.

Tonight (03/30/06) at 6pm, I'll be doing and Internet Marketing for Everyone workshop at the Entrepreneur Institute - Wayne County Community College Eastern Campus. It's a free course and if you're interested, drop in.

In answer to the upcoming calendar event for me, I've started a listing at:

http://sylviahubbard.com/calendar.html

It's still a work in progress and I haven't even added it to the nav bar yet.

On April 4th I'll be doing the Delores Thornton http://www.globaltalkradio.com/shows/around2itbooknook/

I'd like all of you to tune in and tell everyone to do the same and send me really hard questions to mess me up on air - or try to, but I'm pretty much on my game when it comes to my books and writing. LOL.

Now Dezi, I didn't post your comments because ... well some of it was positive and some were negative. I do appreciate your critique of my work and I've resolved that people will think what they think. I'd love for you to please email me off loop and let me know exactly what you thought was lame and what you didn't like.

As for the negative comments you had about certain members responses to your critique, I really couldn't publish those because I'm the only one that they get to kill, LOL.

Sweets: I'll be uploading the full version only until the end of the day Friday so download it fast at my lulu site: http://lulu.com/sylviahubbard. Hit it after 2pm today when the full version will b be there.

Eva: please don't cry. Story is over with and I can't give you anymore. Sorry

Anon1, 2 & beeutee: Thank you .

Kim: no i haven't found another cover for the book. couldn't find a pic of a black woman and white man. got some?

Sing Dammit: (still love the nick name, LOL) You're welcome, glad I could let the baby live. And I wish I had me a Devlin too.

Shai: I'll be doing Pari's story soon. Working it out in my head as we speak. And no there are no deleted scenes to post. This is not a DVD crazy.

Suprina: I will go get some rest, thank you!

Tanner's Devil Part 43.3

I seriously phucked up the template on this blog. Don't know what I did or how i did it, but I erased EVERYTHING!

good thing blogger is like idiot proof and I put all my HTML's in a safe place. The blog should be back to normal by the end of the day.

Guess what, JDub, I started my belly dancing workout regime. Got the DVD on amazon and when I woke up this morning it felt like someone had punched me in the stomach all night long. LOL. But it was so worth it. If I could just lose my kangaroo pouch, I'd be da bomb!

sorry for taking so long for this post too and thank you all for the words of encouragement.

Yeah, I been pretty quiet in the response department and those comments i chose to post from the readers instead of rejecting was mean, yeah but I'm a writer and I should take critique of my work openly. So I decided to let it go and see what you all said about it.

And yes, you are paying my child's tuition because her worthless father refuses to pay. He moved to another state and taking money under the table so no one can trace him. He won't even give me an address. Yes, I blame myself, but this is a handup not a handout. I am a single mother of three working like a Jamaican to get the job done. I'm not taking advantage of the system and I'm contributing towards the system too with every dime I earn and the taxes I pay.

Okay, Enjoy!...

Author Interuption: How To Love A Black Woman Blog Update

I have posted a blog entry on my How To Love A Black Woman Journal. I know I've been out of commission there all wrapped up in Tanner's Devil and also promoting my new paperback book, Mistaken Identity, which by the way is now at like 110K @ Amazon!

The topic of the blog is: Love to the 4th Degree. I wanted to write about the true sense of the word and how it is viewed and how it should be experience. Please read it and post a comment to let me know what ya think.

Thanks for all your support and I'll be posting the last of the church scene by the end of the day. In peer to peer training and listening to this operator and trying to write and emotional scene is difficult.

Tanner's Devil: Author Interuption

In no way am I trying to keep the story from you.

Friday was not a good day. I dropped my daughter off at daycare and i was told she was being kicked out because FIA closed my case. Of course this was not my fault. The daycare had not submitted any payment for my kids in 10 weeks so FIA felt my case was dormant and decided to close the case. All the while also closing the office where I go and now my case file can't be located.

Needless to say, I was bussin all over town trying to get documentation, copies of birth certificates, immunization records, bills, rent receipts and all the other ugly mess that goes with proving I'm worthy for the state to pay a $500 dollar bill for day care.

Don't cha just love being a single parent and all the beauty that goes with it?

I still have so much to do today, but things are looking a little bit up, I guess. I just need to get a copy of my daughter birth certificate - who was born in Florida - but I think the school has it - hopefully - and then I have to get a copy of my last utility bill.

So I'm going to try to post the last scene at church with Tanner, Donetello and Devlin before I leave at 12.

In no way do I mean to leave you guys hanging like that and I know i should have at least emailed something to the blog, but life gets in the way of the things we love to do all the time and my life is an every day Murray's Law and I just roll with the punches.

Your Author,

Sylvia Hubbard

Tanner's Devil Part 43.1

Yes, this is short, but I wanted to post before the time got away from me. And heck yes, it is a cliff hanger! I'm typing it live actually because I've been at a meetign all this time and I couldn't back to it, so even if you do break in my house ya won't get a thing, Shai, LOL>

BTW, I'm just falling out my chair about my ranking on Amazon for Mistaken Identity. That is over cool!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0977443515/qid=1143144747/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-5629983-8770345?s=books&v=glance&n=283155

In any case, I wanted to let you guys know, if you're read Mistaken Identity, Please go to Amazon and post or just post if you want to read it and just love anything else I did, LOL.
And if you're read Stone's Revenge, post at Amazon.com too. Cause if you can't contribute, those reviews do help me sell books.

Okay, we're getting down to the home stretch and I'm debating on whether I should post the last chapter. I mean you're going to know that the drama is over, but I gotta make a buck some how right?

Did you know that we're a little over 98K on the word count for this book? That's a little over 320 pages in a 6x9 novel. That's pretty good and I've been writing for about what? a month straight? Hey! I should win Nano or something - oh yeah, that's only in November. LOL.
ENJOY...

“There were too many voices outside. The pastor said no one should be around,” Pari said worriedly, starting to walk to the front of the church.

Tanner followed behind her friend. “Maybe we should just lock ourselves in the-“

The front door to the church swung open and Donetello filled the doorway.

Pari and Tanner screamed in fright and ran down the aisle, but the shot of his gun going off made Tanner freeze on the spot. Pari fell at her feet. They had almost made it to the side entrance hallway dor that led out to the exit doors of the church.

Holding her arm, while Tanner helped her up, Pari gasped in pain where she had been shot in. Tanner quickly assessed the damage and was relieved it was just a flesh wound.

Taking off her sweater, she wrapped it around Pari’s arm and then looked back at Donetello who had stopped in the middle of the long aisle pointing the gun at them.

“I’ll kill her if you take another step, Tanner,” Donetello said, standing near the middle of the aisle aiming his gun at them.

Tanner moved Pari behind her for protection.

“What are you doing?” Pari whispered as Tanner nudge her to the doorway.

“He won’t kill me,” Tanner mumbled, trying not to move her lips, but keep eye contact with Donetello.

“Stop moving!” Donetello bellowed.

“Don’t kill her!” Tanner said loudly to him. “Let her go, please. You got me. You got what you want, Donetello.”

He smiled triumphantly. “I told you you’ll never get away from, Tanner. Didn’t I tell you?”

“Are you going to let her go?” Tanner asked.

He shrugged indifferently. “You’re right. I got what I came for.”

Tanner turned to Pari and stuffed her pouch in her hands. They were both crying,
knowing what Tanner was sacrificing and neither being able to escape what was going to happen.
“Get out of here!” Tanner hissed.

“I can’t leave you!” Pari sobbed desperately.

“Go!” Tanner screamed, hoping Pari would leave and find help very soon.

Pari rushed out the door and Tanner closed it behind her.

“Now come here, Tanner,” Donetello said. “You’re all mine.”

Slowly, Tanner turned to face the devil. Wishing all hell would open up and swallow him up.

Because he blessings had come to an end and there was nowhere to run.

She began to walk towards him, her feet feeling as it they were encased in cement and her heart slowly dying. Taking only baby steps, Tanner was frantically trying to think her way out of this.

‘Oh hell, girl! You’re in a church! Start praying!’ she yelled at herself.

Tanner started to pray like she never prayed before.

Tanner's Devil Part 42.1

Okay, now I hope you are still not mad about the cliffhangers. Stop it. We're in the thick of things and more cliffs are expected to happen, but yes we're winding down. I just gotta kill a few people and then we can heal.

Umm, lets check the comments :

Tonya: Remember that the duke is a champion Pugilist and sharp shooter. So he doesn't fight or shoot like a girl. But Del is from the Heart family so that just makes him a bad mo'fo.

Eva: The hearts are never in a story to make things easier.
anon1: I'm typing as fast as possible.

skysix: would you tell them that again?

smitha: It really isn't draggin is it? cause I'll just cause unnecessary deaths just because. Or why don't we just stop and start a new one?

Marlena: Del is the kinda of person who usually knows shit before you see it. so he knew things were going down and if Tanner was dead, he knew Devlin would enjoy getting revenge on Donetello.

Suprina: Queen of Cliffhangers? Wow? Is there money with this crown?

Anon2: Isnt bribing illegal? I'm posting as fast as they are popping out my head, I swear.

Shai: Email me offloop boo, or call me and let me know where you got confused. I know you're in 313 too.

Okay, the bad news is at the bottom of this part:

Enjoy...
