Tanner's Devil : Author Interuption

First responses from yesterday and this morning:

Shai: It was pretty nicely cut but isn't anything from Tiffany's.

JDub: I know. I'm sad too. I liked these characters a lot.

Eva: No, there are no midgets I didn't tell you about. you know I usually dont pop things on you. I may hide it, but not just cheat on the story like that. I get annoyed by that from writers.

Sky six (thanks for posting first) thank you for enjoying the story too.

Anon1: Please don't hit the first man you see that looks like Donetello. They might just sue me for what little else my ex hasn't made me pawn, LOL.

And for the others that have sent me emails offline, thank you so much for enjoying the story too. I'm loving it and i do wish I could post it faster.

Last night I rewrote a scene like three times and then I got up this morning and rewrote it some More. I've never done that but like I said before i don't want to cheat you and I want to make sure it's really true to life.

I know Devlin knows nothing about street life and he can't just understand Tanner's reasons for things she did so I can't place him in the middle of the action because he's a duke and dukes just don't know how to handle a P.I.M.P. off the top of his head.

Which is why I did bring in Del. Now I did get a question regarding Del. If you don't know who he is or have never met him, I first introduced him in Stealing Innocence: http://www.lulu.com/content/82604.

And yes he is Lethal Heart's cousin.

I'm almost afraid to post the next chapter, but I should warn you you're going to be upset with me for a second, but please if you know me, you know it just gets better and better.

Now that's the only clue I'm revealing, but I'll understand if you start yelling at me okay. Just use Ms. B when you decided to call me out my name.

(Preparing to pack and leave town so no one can hunt me down and kill me. LOL)

I'll post in an hour.

And this really is the last post for today...LOVE YOU!

Tanner's Devil Part 40.2

In no way am I trying to hold on to the story. Oh please...I'm really trying to finish this baby up, I swear. Over the weekend I worked like a dog! I was even in hurt writing (lawd, help me, please - but at least I didn't have a love scene to do cause those are really hard to do in church while the pastor is screaming Praise Jezus! - sorry for those religious people on the board - just pray for me.)

Oh and for those that want to donate more than just one or five bucks, please go to
http://Paypal.com and send money to my address at hubbooks@yahoo.com. Thanks Chandra (pretty name - I might borrow that for the next story is that okay?).

Okay, let me get the responses out the way before I tell you the bad news which is at the bottom of this post.

Tonya: I hate Donetello too

Shai: Yes, he is and I can't wait either! Eva just started screaming at people and people are just the nicest. Maybe cause they noticed the more I get a donation the more I try to put out. (Hint Hint Hint.)

Anon1: I couldn't post another cause i left work early.

Ruby: I'm really tyring to get done. I really thought i could finish it last week but i'm hoping this week for sure.

Vita: thank you!

Beeutee: I swear I'm not trying to post one at a time and if I do, I try to make them long posts unless I just can't get back to it. Like i said before I'm really not trying to stretch it out.

anon2: no dev's not still sitting on his ass. see following chapter.

Angelina: thank you for understanding the real deal behind the title.

Cinquetta Allen: how could I forget the famous call to my cell phone. I tell all my writing buddies about that one cause I was flabberghasted and honored that a fan would call me.

anon3: I hope Devlin beats Don down too. An itty bitty pulp. Thanks for the support!

anon4: Yes Pari's in deep shyte, but that's a whole 'nother story - literally.

Enjoy....

The scream would not come out, yet there was not one centimeter in her body that she wasn’t feeling terrified. Donetello was here in the flesh gripping against him as if he wanted to break her in half.

“Aren’t you, Tanner?”

“No,” she whispered.

The back of his hand came up and slapped her across the face sending her to the floor. Tanner crawled away toward the vanity, still clutching her bag. Donetello moved slowly beside her and kicked her in the hips. She curled in a ball to protect her stomach.

“Please, don’t!” she begged.

Grabbing a chunk of her hair in his hand, he yanked her up to her knees and ordered in a hiss,
“Say it.”

She could feel the follicles almost popping out her scalp in pain. Stubbornly she shook her head and received another backhanded slap for that to her other cheek. Trying to crawl away again, he caught her by her hair once more and pulled her on her knees again.
He bawled his fist up to punch her.

“Please!” she cried, clutching the front of his shirt desperately. “Donetello, I’m pregnant. I swear. I don’t how, but I am.”

Even more anger raged in his eyes, but his fist relaxed and his whole demeanor calmed instantly. He released the grip to her head and let her collapsed to the floor. “Don’t matter, Tanner. I’m still taking you with me.”

“I don’t want to go back! I don’t want anything to do with you, anymore,” she seethed. “I hate you.”

“And you love him? You wanna stay here and forget where you came from? Get your shit and let’s go.”

She felt like back in the day when he used to come and pick her up from a John’s place.
Clutching the bag to her chest, she stood up and turned away from him to look into a mirror. Her lip had begun to swell on both sides of her face. “Please Dontello. Don’t make me leave now. Let me have the baby for him and then I’ll come to you. I promise.”

Donetello moved up behind her and Tanner felt disgust as he wrapped one arm around her stomach and another arm around her neck. “And take the chance of losing you again?” he asked. “No, Tanner. You’re coming with me. Now you either have two choices: One, you could walk out of here with me just as quietly as I walked in. Or two, you make a big fuss, bring everyone up here to help you and I slaughter each one in front of you including that son of a bitch John that I’ll take great pleasure in gutting like the cracker pig he is.”

Tanner closed her eyes knowing that without a doubt, Donetello would do it.

* * *

When Harrison found Devlin spread out in the middle of the wine cellar floor passed out with three bottles lying around him empty, it was three in the morning.

Even Devlin wasn’t sure how long he had been sleeping, but once awake, he instantly became sober when Harrison asked, “When was the last time you spoke with Lady Tanner, mi’lord?”

Devlin checked his watch. “I went back up to the room at midnight, but it was still locked,” he mumbled, but he wasn’t going to admit that time, unlike the first time had felt kind of empty – as if she hadn’t been there.

Harrison frowned his deep blue eyes, looking highly concerned. “I just had the head servant open the door, so I could check on her because Ruby also knocked after you left with no answer.
He said he hadn’t seen her since she departed the dining room earlier in the evening.

Flinching at the reminder of the earlier evening event, he put Tanner’s wedding ring he had been clutching since then in his pocket and stood up. The room spun for a slight moment, but he shook this off and let Harrison brush off his clothes. A problem seemed to be at hand and he needed all his sensibilities. “Didn’t you say she probably left on the flight with Renaldo to me when I came to you a few hours ago?”

“After you came to me, like I said Ruby followed shortly and expressed concerned. That is why I checked the room to see what she had taken and to gage when she had left and why she had left Ruby when she promised she would take him if she did leave. When I saw all her items still there and no Lady Tanner, with the balcony doors wide opened and tied sheets on the ground in nearby bushes below, I began to worry.”

Devlin shrugged. “So she snuck out.”

Harrison shook his head. “Lady Tanner wouldn’t do that. Not in her condition.”

“What condition?”

Tanner's Devil Part 40.1

Okay, be careful what you ask (anonymous on bended knee.) This is the last post of the day. I should also warn you that I might be especially busy working and realy tired tomorrow, because I'll be up late at the book talk. (My bed times 8 on Tuesday.)

And no threats Tonya. And no calling the phone demanding for me to finish (you know who you are.)

I've just alerted authorities on all y'all...

Enjoy...

Getting to the bedroom, she locked the door and collapsed her back against the beautiful thick oak wood. Slowly sliding down, she finally was able to cry and she did so, very hard, shaking and sobbing covering her face. Drawing her knees up to her chest, she buried her face down with her arms around her head and cried some more.

Devlin’s words had really hurt more than she realized and she didn’t want anything to do with him, yet her soul had already connected to him and she knew he would be hard to resist - Harder than Donetello had ever been to resist. Devlin had left in indelible mark on her heart forever and it wasn’t because she was carrying his child.

Putting her head up, she reached for her bag to dig in it to get her purse and find some tissue to blow her nose. It was then she noticed something strange about her surroundings – a different smell and feel about the place. Usually she felt safe and secure, but she found herself slowly standing up and being very wary of where she was.

Looking around the room, she noticed that the balcony doors were opened and her trunk was opened as if it had been riffled through, which was strange. Had a servant come in looking for something? Maybe Harrison?

Pounding on her door, she jumped startled, clutching her bag to her chest in fright.

“Tanner, opened the door,” Devlin ordered on the other side.

She didn’t speak too scared of what she might say – wanting to give in no matter what he came to say to her and hating herself for wanting to just give in so easily.

“Tanner,” he called.

Walking up to the door, she pressed her face against it and closed her eyes. He was right there. She could feel him. He knew she was also against the door.

In a whisper, she heard him say, “I’m sorry. I am an ass. I’m all the awful things you said and think now, but I love you, Tanner Sanchez.”

She began to cry again and placed her hand on the lock of the door to open it. Suddenly, a hand gripped her own and she looked up into deep brown cold eyes. A scream wanted to leap out her mouth in terror, as a cold wind from nowhere seemed to chill her to the bone.

Devlin’s footsteps rescinded from the door as she was jerked away from the door.

“Isn’t that sweet,” Donetello said, pulling her hard against his body. “Too bad for him that you’re mine.”

Tanner's Devil: Author Interuption

yes, I know you hate these, especially the old readers and especially near the end of the book.

This is where I make a decision... to post or not to post... that is the question.

(smiling wickedly)

Let me ponder that for a moment while I chat and respond to people.

First, I'm a pretty good predictor of my stories, aren't I? I said about 40 chapters and we're hitting 40. Can you believe that?

I'm good (doing the happy dance.)

Second, guess who called me... well that's just a crazy and annoying question. Of course you wouldn't be able to guess. Yahoo called me. I swear. I was skeptical at first too. They'd been emailing me about December telling me they wanted to speak to me about my 360 experience and they set a date and time twice and had to reschedule it until today at 1pm (which is why the post was all phucked up.) Anyway, she enjoyed my experience so much that she asked if I'd be interested in participating in any media things that they were working on to do in the next couple of months.

We'll see, but that'd be so fun being in a yahoo commercial. I'm ordinary enough, aren't I?

(I'm still thinking if I should post)

Thirdly is responses to the comments. Boy are you guys on a roll. The days not over and I'm at 700 hits! LOL. We might actually see that counter get to 1000 if I decided to post one more, huh? (teasing you greatly)

Anonymous 1: I'm doing the happy dance too cause Latasha was getting on my last nerve. And you're right, money don't always make you happy, but it sure would get me a nice car, when I don't have one at all. LOL (hint hint hint)

Anonymous 2: Speaking of bended knee, I'm gonna tell you a secret about me. Something i rarely tell people, but my ex-husband didn't even get on his knee to ask me to marry him. Matter of fact, I've rarely had a man get on a knee for anything for me except once we were sneaking into the movies and me and this co-worker of mine had to get over a wall. He got on his knee and let me use his shoulders to climb on....I'm still thinking about one more installment.

Sweets: I couldn't knock Lady Emma, but it was nice taking her down a peg or two.

Anonymous 3: Thank you for having this as one of the best stories you've read in a long time. Do yu read much though? LOL. Just kidding. You could be like Zane sitting there reading it so that would be some type of honor.

Anonymous 4: (read Anonymous 3 remark)

Tonya: Well they just might all get on the plane with me after you read Chapter 40, LOL. I'm going to take that compliment, praise and statement (snatching it from the air) and claim it. I like how you think. Alright how many of you are now calling every bookstore you know and demanding that they order Mistaken Identity so I can get on the Essence Best seller list. I figure if I got all the people reading this blog to get bookstores they know to order the books and then send fifty friends to the store to buy the book, I'll most definitely be on the best sellers by the end of April.

Anonymous 5: This is the same person that almost just dropped her Blackberry in the toilet? How many stalls do you have at your work place? Are there any job openings there because I wanna work where you work! LOL.

This has been a pretty interesting day. Tonight I go to Farwell Middle School and meet with Parents who have been reading Stone's Revenge. It's going to be interesting to see what they thought of that story and they might be a little crazy about it too. Cause that was a rollercoaster ride too. LOL.

I'm nervous as hell. The bad news is that I can get there, but I might have to catch a cab or bus home from the school cause my brother can only drop me off, not take me home.

I'm still going and hopefully I can find a way to get home.

Okay... I'm still thinking if I should post or not, so let me hold off for a moment.
