Emperor's Addiction Chapter 2.2

MY FAULT!

I corrected something wrong and made her black.

Yes, she's white because I wanted her to be that because I haven't written a good interracial in a while. LOL.

Sorry bout that. Remember, there are going to be some bumps and bruises along the way and I'll be the first to say I'm looney as the extinct bird.

So shuck that light caramel complexion. cause I was in a whole 'nother story.

Okay, End of Chapter 2.... enjoy...

She turned around and screamed at the naked giant holding a .22 caliber in her face. Dropping the folder, she pressed her back against the nearest wall beside the bed her light gray/blue eyes wide in fright.

Emperor Heart's dark eyes looked in disbelief as he realized who she was, but that still didn't prompt him to lower his gun because he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"What the fuck are you doing here?!" he repeated, but this time his tone was not so sharp.

Her lips moved, but nothing came out of her throat. All those witty remarks she had planned to say just left her brain as she took in his nakedness. Especially the long limp staff that went halfway down his thigh nestled in golf sized dark brown orbs the same shade as the rest of his skin basked in silky hairs. It hadn't been the first penis she'd seen but it was certainly the most perfect one. She remembered once a girlfriend in ninth grade found a way to look over into the doorway of the boy's showers and there was no end to the coming and goings and sometimes just standing there, waiting for a free shower that she remembered seeing. Yet, she had to remember this was a man's penis and not just any man - A wonderful specimen of flesh that God had perfected to a T.

Emperor realized he must be frightening the fuck out of her and tossed the gun on the bed after putting the safety back on. "I thought you were a thief," he explained. Narrowing his eyes as if it took a moment to remember, he said, "Reese, right?"

Cautiously, she nodded her brilliant eyes like diamonds staring at his face. Her brows were very creased still frozen in fear. The unkemptness of them made her look like she had one brow and she wouldn't move from the wall.

Looking down at himself, he cursed under his breath and grabbed the robe off the nearest chair, wrapping it around his lean waist. "I left the door unlocked for a friend. I was coming to the school to get Eartha's work." He looked down at the floor by her feet and smirked in amusement. "I take it that was it?"

She finally was able to break eye contact now that she knew she didn't have his body to look at, although standing there with water dripping from his bare chest didn't help. All of Eartha's work had fallen from the folder, and she knelt to pick it up.

He crouched down and helped pick up the papers simultaneously. Once their hands bumped and she quickly jerked away like he had burned her. Now that he saw her up close, he couldn't believe how beautiful she really was behind those ugly thick-rimmed glasses that concealed diamond gray eyes, with long blonde lashes. Her skin flushed

"I-I left, school early, and I-I…" She couldn't breathe right and quickly stood up when all the papers were all off the floor. She shoved him the messed up stack feeling like an idiot and just wanting to cry - So much for her seduction. It was stupid to think a man like him would go for someone so young. He had to be over thirty-five and as handsome as he was, he could have any woman he wanted.

Reese turned to leave, but Emperor wasn't done with her and now that he had her face to face, he wanted to get her out of his own curiosity. "Wait," he said, letting the papers fall out his hand to catch her arm and hold her form going back down the stairs.

She looked up at him and felt her heart take double beats because he was closer and her thighs suddenly felt on fire. Forcing herself to speak, she said, "I thought if I could help out with her work, she would see I wasn't really mad at her. My mom' s just causing trouble."

"I understand and Karen can lose her temper when she's really pissed," he said, liking how soft spoken she was despite her own fluster. "I'm sorry about the gun and scaring you."

Reese looked down at the grip he had on her arm. His hand was even large and she was close enough to realize the top of her head just barely came to his chest. If he tried to kiss her he would have to almost bend his own body down, but that was only if she stood on her tiptoes because she was just five feet three feet.

He released her arm instantly and Reese felt the room spin a little. "Let me put something on and I'll walk you down. Unless you wanted to stay for a while? Eartha's room's got some things you might like in it."

'Did he sound as if he were nervous?' She asked herself. No, it was just that wishful thinking again. Emperor Heart looked like a man who knew exactly what he wanted and he didn't want a prudish looking female that he thought no more than a close friend to his daughter.

"I should go, Mr. Heart," she said and started to turn around.

"Wait, please. It'll take two seconds." Emperor walked in his bathroom and put on a T-shirt, socks and jogging shorts not caring he wasn't wearing any underwear. Why did he have this fascination with this chick? He couldn't explain the fact that he hadn't felt this alive around a female since high school. She looked young, but not that young yet girls in high school these days always looked older, so he couldn't really question her young appearance and those awful clothes didn't help. Her mother was turning her into a damn nun.

He remembered Eartha saying, "Reese doesn't have it too good." And even Karen had said some favorable respectable words about her as well.

When he came out the bathroom, he frowned seeing that she wasn't there anymore. Rushing down the steps he stopped dead in his tracks as he entered his office and saw her sitting in a chair in front of the desk.

It reminded him of her sitting awkwardly at the desk at school, Her thick stocking covered knees were closed tightly and her hands were balled into a tight fist lying in her lap. Her back was perfectly straight and she was looking slightly away from him. This time she was staring at the bathroom door.

"I thought you left," he said.

"It seemed as if you wanted to speak more to me, sir," she said, but didn't look his way.

He sat down beside her and for the first time in his life he was lost for words to a female. The fact that she was white didn't bother him. Hell, Em had gone through the colors of the rainbow with women from all over the world three times over and neither did the fact that she was young bother him. He was no sick pervert even though the salacious thoughts he was constantly fighting were bothering him a lot that he felt nothing wrong in feeling this way. Em couldn't think of a damn word to say. Spreading his thighs wide feeling his manhood twitch significantly, he leaned forward in case his member decided to speak for him.

            "Your eye," he said.

She looked at him and smiled. "It's better. It's all gone. You do remember me?"

He licked his bottom lip seeing he had hit something. Obviously she hadn't thought he remembered her, but he was positive he had said her name before all this. "Yes, I can't forget you," he let slip out. "Eartha's never punched anyone before." Em quickly added, hoping it didn't sound as if he was trying to  come on to her.

"Eartha's a sweet person," she said, liking that he had said that, but wishing he hadn't added the last part.

there was an awkward silence as they stared at each other.

She felt like a schoolgirl drooling over the jock and quickly averted her eyes to the side so it would look like she found the wallpaper more interesting than him. "I should go," she said feeling really stupid as she stood up.

He stood up with her. "Um... your mother... well, Karen said she wasn't a very nice person."

As she spoke, she watched his bottom lip and counted at least four licks of his lips as he spoke.

"I just thought if you ever needed some place to retreat to, you can take Eartha's room sometime... if you're ever in the neighborhood. Eartha's real busy lately since she's been in high school and her mother enrolled her in so many damn after school activities, I barely get my alternate weekends with her lately, but it's cool because the room is so large and... well, you know she won't mind."

An invitation? Was he inviting her to come over? No, he was treating her like a little girl and offering some help because he figured she was a good friend with his daughter and he was either feeling pity or trying to be a cool dad. That wasn't what she really wanted. She wanted him to treat her like a woman. Like someone he was seriously interested in and wanted to make love to.

            "I should go," she repeated.

"Does she treat you bad?" he asked.

With her back to him, Reese was able to hide the hurt expression on her face. "She has her reasons."

"There's no reason if it makes you sad, Reese," he pointed out.

Tears welled in her eyes and wiped them away with her hand. "I'm just a product of many mistakes that she doesn't want me to make."

Em had a powerful urge to go to her and wrap her in his arms. For some reason he wanted to protect her fiercely, make her happy and hear her laugh.

"My offer is always open," he insisted.

Looking back at him, she said, "It wouldn't be right. That's Eartha's room."

"I have a guest house out back. I'll stock it with anything you want," he promised.

She smiled gratefully. "I'll think about, Mr. Heart."

"Call me Em," he offered, holding out his hand in friendship.

Walking back to him, she placed her hand in his and gripped it firmly. "Thank you, E-Em." It felt really awkward calling him that.

A door shut behind them and she felt his hand jerk from her own as if he had done something very wrong.

"Was I interrupting something?" A considerably tall white man asked from the office door.

"Um, no Ethan. This is um..." He was lost for words again.

            "Reese," she finished his sentence.

            "Yeah, she's Eartha's friend."

Reese saw Emperor start to sweat as if he was about to get into some kind of trouble. "Tell her to call me if she has any questions about the lessons." She took out a paper she had pre-wrote her prepaid cell phone number on. That had been one of her rehearsed things.

He took the paper and gently guided her to the doorway, while the friend stayed  in the office. Keeping his voice down, he asked, "You let me know when you finish thinking about it?"

Nodding, she leaned into him and asked, "Is there something wrong?"

A film of sweat layered his forehead as he tried to look as if nothing were wrong. "Nothing."

Reaching up, she presumptuously touched his forehead. It was cool to the touch. "Maybe you need to rest, sir." There was a joking twinkle in her eye.

Emperor removed her hand not liking how his body reacted powerfully to her touch.

She had done it without forethought suddenly very comfortable around him and doing something that felt so natural, but understanding that he probably didn't want her to touch him. "I'm sorry."

"I'm sure it's not rest I need, Reese."

Stiffening up, she left out the home and went to her vehicle. He watched her the entire time until she pulled away. Reese was shaking with nervousness and happiness. He had made an effort to make her welcome back at his home.

True, his pity made her a bit upset, but if she could just make him forget that she didn't really care for her mother's rules and if they were broken, then she could get him to see her as a person and soon as a woman. Maybe then he would be tempted to reach out to her as a man and....

The idea of experiencing something like she always saw in those romantic movies made her heart flutter and now that she had seen him, well, now she really had something to go with her fantasies.

She wasn't even around the corner from his home when she decided to pull over and think about what had just happened. Closing her eyes, she leaned her head back and thought about Emperor standing there in all his glory, without the gun shoved in her face. He was delicious to look at. A black Adonis. A dark David with larger proportions. This thought made her giggle to herself.

She could just imagine him tossing the gun aside, pulling her in his arms and leaning down with those firm lips and pressing them with confidence against her receptive mouth. Looking around, Reese apprehensively scoped out the area to see if anyone was around. When she felt the coast was clear, she nervously bit her lips to initiate what she usually did in private, yet was now strongly compelled to ignore normality.

With a stealth mission, she managed to she sneak her hand up her dress, under her stockings and press her index finger and middle finger against the sensitive nub, rubbing it slowly as her fantasy expanded to Emperor lying her on the bed after he had taken all her clothes off...

*          *          *

Em returned in the room and went right past Ethan to lock himself up in the bathroom. He needed to take another cold shower, but he couldn't ignore the raging hard-on between his legs. Lowering his pants, he wrapped his fingers around the base and felt his already rapid heartbeat increase. Closing his eyes, all he could think of was those beautiful diamond blue/gray eyes, thin pink lips pursing in nervousness and innocence. How he wanted to pull every damn pin out of her hair and run his fingers from her nape to her forehead until he had embedded the softness in his memory for life. His mouth would take hers and tenderly show those lips how to kiss a real man, not those damn high school boys.

"Fuck!" he cursed, hating the torture he was putting himself through. Throwing open the medicine cabinet he found the petroleum jelly and wiped it on his tip, then he griped himself firmly and began to massage from the tip to the base in long strokes. He used both hands not getting enough coverage with just one of his hands.

She would be so tight. So firm and her warmness would hug him in a death embrace he would want to die in.

*          *          *

As frightened as she would be, knowing it was Emperor there between her legs, she would welcome him, opening as he would press into her, filling her with his mighty scepter and impaling her with sweet, sweet pleasure. He'd curve his body and take her, relishing in knowing he was the first and making love to her so long and tenderly, she would cry as they orgasmed together.

The tingling increased and she bit her lip as the pulsing peaked. "Emmm." It was supposed to sound like a moan from her lips, but it sounded so much like the nickname he wanted to call her and it sounded even more sensuous to her ears. Just the idea of him being in her made her release and she gasped her giddiness and desire.

*          *          *

So tight. So wet and all his. Yes! Damn his desires! His control! His wantonness!

Throwing his head back, Em let his release shoot from him, landing all the way on the edge of the tub that was about two feet away.

Fuck! What in hells name had gotten into him?

He didn't open his eyes until he was positive he had his breathing under control and the room had stopped spinning. Never in his life had he thought exclusively about just one female and for some reason he had a feeling this time... she was really there.

It was the craziest thought, but it made so much sense.

He prayed she didn't take him up on his offer because he wasn't sure if he could resist the urge to not have her.

*          *          *

Her eyes went straight to the clock in her car. Juanita's words rang in her ear, "Go straight home!"

Juanita didn't even know she was going to deliver the folder. Reese didn't want her to know.

Using a handi-wipe she kept in her purse, she cleaned her hand, started up her car and drove home as quickly as possible. Juanita hadn't made it home from school yet, but there were three messages on the machine and Caller ID read the school's phone number.

Clicking the ringer off the phone, she went upstairs and took a shower. She washed her wet underwear by hand in the bathroom sink and then laid down n her bed feeling very content.

This one had been different. Really different. It was as if he were really there on some deep level of subconsciousness.

Maybe he had really been thinking about her after she had left and some way, in this weird universe, they had connected because they were thinking about each other at the same time. Although, she was sure Emperor Heart was not thinking about her as she had thought about him... yet, a girl could dream, right?

Emperor's Addiction Chapter 2.1

Yes, this is the first break up of chapters. One of many that you will be experiencing. Blogger is going through something and I'm forced to published offline and then send it up by email.

Technology is great ... when it works, LOL.

No comments as of yet, but I'm hoping it's only because of technical difficulties.

____________________________________________

Forcing the Chevette's gear stick to park, she slowly released her foot off the brake hoping the car would stay stationary. She hadn't gotten the brakes fixed like she was supposed to with the little money her mother allowed her to have. Reese had other needs for the money and she couldn't let Juanita Carver know about that.

Ever since her mother had been "controlling her life" severely for as long as she could remember, when she was sixteen Reese woke up and realized that her mother had no intentions of ever letting her go and that there was something going on, but if she left – ran away from Juanita - she would be walking away with nothing, this included any education she tried to obtained because her mother was so heavily connected in the education system.

"You walk out of here and I'll make even your silly high school diploma disappear off the radar," Juanita had threatened one time.

It wouldn't be so bad if Reese had earned a D average, but she had been a 4.0 student for as long as she could remember and she'd even gotten a scholarship for college.

As years progressed, Juanita's control on her became tighter and tighter until Reese felt like she couldn't breath unless she asked for her mother's permission.

Now there was a lot of defiance in Reese and she fought tooth to hide it from her mother, but her reasons for pulling in front of Emperor Heart's home was pure defiance to any of Juanita Carver's order.

Grabbing the folder, she sighed with relief knowing the car would remain where it was supposed to be without her putting bricks behind the back and front tires. It was so embarrassing and right now, she really didn't want the embarrassment around Emperor Heart.

'Emperor Heart,' she said to herself dreamily. Ever since seeing that tall fine specimen of man that was all she could think about. If Juanita knew the fantasies that had come over her daughter, she would have dragged Reese to church immediately and made her pray for forgiveness until the cows came home. Clutching the folder close to her full bosom, she made her way up the walkway of the ranch style home and rang the doorbell.

She ran over what she was going to say when she saw him. "Hey, remember me?...Yeah, no black eye this time." With her candy caramel complexion light coloring, the black eye had been horrendous to face every morning and she bruised so easily.

Juanita may have thought she was taking away all pleasures in Reese's life, but her daughter had great peripheral vision and Emperor Heart was not a man one could ignore. Broad shouldered, thickly built, powerful long thighs and ebony eyes that seem to see everything and nothing all at once. For an instant, she thought she saw him have some kind of interest in her, but she was probably wrong and her wishful thinking was dying to be true.

"I was leaving school early and instead of you coming all the way up there, I thought I would just bring this by." That sounded even better.

            Reese rang the doorbell again.

Faking stomach cramps was very easy since it was near her period. Juanita thought she had really bad menstrual cramps because Reese had been faking it all her life just to get some time away from her mother's watchful eye.

Some mother's preached, "Whatever you can't do in front of mother, don't do at all." Juanita's motto was, "Always stay with mother and you won't do anything bad." Even when they were home alone, Juanita rarely let her leave her sight. No doors were allowed to be locked or closed even to go to the bathroom.

Even though Reese was past the point of needing parental responsibility in her life, Juanita still insisted that Reese stay with her. The many times Reese tried to move out, Juanita made sure that it was difficult for her and running away was just to difficult unless it was out of state where Juanita couldn't pull on the ear of the teacher's board to make it hard for Reese to get a job away from her mother.

Juanita had her reasons for all the tight security - or a least that's what Reese told herself. She was terrified that Reese would turn out like her, when she was younger. Wild and promiscuous, not sure who was her father, Reese grew up around partying and drugs, watching her mother solicit men for money and do whatever she had to do to get by and get her educational degree.

When Juanita was blessed with this great job as a teacher, she suddenly got some kind of religion and forced her daughter to conform to their new way of life. Reese hated this "religion" and she told her mother on several occasions; all of which, Reese received a cruel slap to the mouth.

Knocking on the door, it opened easily in front of her, but no one stood there. Stepping in the cherry wood decorated interior, she looked down at the stand by the door. Jaguar keys were there and she knew he was in the right now.

"Hello," she called, but there was no answer. Holding the folder even tighter to her chest, she shrieked as the front door closed automatically behind her.

Turning around and looking at it, she saw there was some strange electronic device that powered the door to make it open and close, which was probably how the door had opened in the first place when she had knocked.

Detroit was not a safe place to leave any door open so she figured that this security device had been turned off on purpose in expectation of someone.

Walking to the living room, there was no one around, but she was too interested marveling at the expensive furniture and artwork around the place. What did Eartha say her father did? Communication Systems? Something like that. He was some kind of army electronic whiz and decided to open up his own business.

Going back to the foyer, she knew he had to be around because his keys were here and the security was off the front door. 'Maybe he was in the kitchen,' she assumed.

Walking down to the end of the hallways, she passed a dining room able to seat about ten people, and at the end was a kitchen to the left of the house - very large and fully equipped to host a very nice party. Next to the kitchen was an office where she was positive Emperor did all his work and then some. Every piece of new technology occupied the room and some of it she had never even seen before. It was very tempting to go and sit behind his desk, just to experience a closeness to him, but she resisted the urge too curious about where he could be.

Right before the office was a bedroom and she surmised this was Eartha's room, because it contrasted drastically with the cherry wood decor of the house by displaying bright pinks and other girly things that Reese couldn't imagine Emperor having any interest in. Eartha had told Reese her father had designed the house the way he wanted it and tore down the bedroom walls in the house, making it one for her so that she could have enough room to do whatever she wanted to do without bothering him.

And indeed that was right. Eartha had everything any girl of fourteen could dream about in her room and there was a balcony that led to the backyard where there was a pool and covered Jacuzzi.

Why the child chose to stay at her mother's house Reese couldn't fathom. She could die in this room as perfect as it was even though she had grown out of pink years ago.

That just showed her that any woman in his life would get anything from him they wanted, but Reese wasn't stupid, nor was she naïve as she looked - or her mother thought her to be. She knew woman salivated over Emperor Heart. She had heard Eartha say many times about how these woman were always throwing themselves at him and how no woman seemed to ever want to say no to him. Even his ex-wife admitted she would still sleep with the man because he was just pure magnificent with a capital "M."

Reese had heard most all of these at PTA meetings her mother volunteered at and Reese had to sit in the back and wait for it all to be over with until the end because Juanita didn't want her at home alone.

Knowing so much about him, but never seeing him was strange and in a way, Reese had come to like the man a little even before setting eyes on him. Even though he was black and she was white, she found him to be fascinating. Reese wanted to be different and she was sure other women had tried to be different with him. Ever since she had set sights on Emperor Heart, she knew what her mission was - to entice this man beyond all reason and have him between her legs. Her next step after that was to let Juanita Carver know she had given her virginity up to that man and let all hell break loose after that.

Something above her head was moving, but she had not seen that there was flight of stairs in the house. Going back to the office, she walked in and saw there were three doors. One of them was a large closet; the second was a bathroom that shared with Eartha's room and the third door was a flight of stairs.

Reese remembered how Eartha told her that Emperor designed the house specifically so that it was his own design - unique and relaxing, yet complex.

There was certainly complexity around this place, Reese thought as she mounted the stairs hoping she was going the right way. As she came to the top of the darkened stairway, she opened the door and she was positive she stepped into some type of sinful pleasure den.

Black was the primary color scheme as she stared at the huge bed bathe in black silk sheets. Above her head, was a large sunroof with special shutters to block or give way to the sun light. Currently the shutters were open and the room was soaked in natural light.

The black carpet was soft and soothing under her feet. Yet despite the rest of the opulent room, she couldn't take her eyes off the bed and that was where she found herself standing next to. Slowly, she reached her hand out and placed it on the pillow that was still dented form his head. Leaning down, she buried her face in the silk fabric, smelling his essence still vibrant.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" a deep voice growled behind her.

Coming Soon May 2008: Secrets, Lies and Family Ties

The beginning of the last: Emperor's Addiction

After a long hard journey - since 2006, I have decided that this will be my last live book.

Recently, after suffering through pneumonia - well, even before that, I wanted to start focusing on getting a publishing contract and so forth.

I'm going to I need more time in doing so and doing a live story every three months and also finish writing the other books that I need to complete the Hearts and Bellini series, not include Dark Facade and my daughters hackling me to finish up the two teen books I started just to get her to read more but she's enjoying them too much.

On top of that I started school and with the internship I'm going to have to obtain, plus more consulting jobs, it's going to be even more difficult to make sure I'm not over stretching myself.

Plus, I really want to focus on pushing Secrets, Lies and Family Ties. All my other books I've published I really hadn't done much of offline promotion.

Unless I want to kill myself, and i know you don't want that to happen - then I don't know what else to do.

Now dont' get me wrong. I won't stop writing and my work will still be available and I'll still be coming out with e-novels that ou can download. At least one free download every year like I've been doing. To keep an eye on that, I'm going to update the http://sylviahubbard.wordpress.com/books.

Eventually, this blog will be shut down and I'll just have everything over at the wordpress blog.

Slowly I'll be adding other things to that site and then i'll post when this one will be shut down for good.

Yeah, I know. I know. You're upset. Well, I'm hoping you'll come join me at that blog and see what new things I have to offer. i'll have to recatalog everything and I'll take the comments little by little off of here and repost them under the books at lulu.

On the second note, I'd like to thank all of you for your early donations. I was so surprised that so many people really donated this time. It's one of the largest donations I've received before the book ever (That was one of the reasons why I had decided not to do this anymore, too because people were reading for free with no donations hardly).

If you would like to make a donation to the literary endeavors of mine then CLICK HERE.

third note: If you read Secrets, Lies & Family Ties, then you know about Prince Heart. A lot of people asked about that and although I haven't sent an official press kit about it, I would like you to know that it's available at:

http://www.amazon.com/Cabin-Fever-Detroit-Sylvia-Hubbard/dp/1438212615/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1212398387&sr=8-1

Now let's get to live blogging.... I hope that cheers you up.

The first chapter actually has been posted. Haven't read it?

Instead of reposting and to watch my stats to see just how many people are reading instead of depending on one counter, you can click over to:

Now if this is your first live blog, please remember, you are reading off the top of my head.

I haven't written the story at all except maybe putting some notes in a file so I can remember where I would like the story to go, although, sometimes I never see things coming like Sin's Iniquity was a complete surprise and all the drama of Sex Weed was really off the bat.

Tanner's Devil, I don't think I even had a game plan. Just two characters I had to struggle blood sweat and tears in order to give a really good story.

I never can tell what's going to happen because i'm a character driven writer and I write whatever the characters do and say in my head.

You're actually reading off the top of my head by less than 24 hours and I could tell you what's going to happen even if i wanted to because i wouldn't know if it would happen or not. Like i said, I know what I want to happen, but I don't know if that's going to be true.

I should warn you - never judge a book by it's cover. That's really the only warning i have. Just because you think something is happening and it's so very very wrong and i know i've written some kinky stuff - the beads in Tanner, the twins in Mistaken and the honey in Secrets/Lies. One reader said that I had the ability to make the wrong seem right.

But i'm not sick in the head, so stay with me. I'm borderline, but i'm not nasty... okay... that's a matter of opinion because I have re-read some of my stuff and i'm blushing like crazy, LOL.

I'll post a minimum two to three times a week. To make me post more, you're going to have to do two things : 1.Tell people about it. The more hits I get, the more I'm encouraged to post. 2) Comment on the posts. I need and love feedback - good and bad in order to write which which will encourage me to post.

Now there will be torture. REaders don't call me Queen of Cliffhanger for nothing, but i'll try to keep the heart attacks more at the end of the week than in the middle. No more almost dropping Blackberries in the toilet, or screaming out at work, or passing out - well, I might do a little to make you do this, LOL.

So without further ado.

Let's get started. Read instructions again:

Read the excerpt, post your comment and then I'll post by the end of the day. If you want to get updates instantly, you can either subscribe to the blog by email or by yahoogroups, which will be updated just as immediately as the blog.

Now if you are apart of the yahoo group, please switch either to daily digest or no mail if you dont want to get too much until the story ends.

I'd love more interaction from the readers and I don't mind anonymous comments either.

In the upcoming months, I'll be doing a lot of traveling for my books. I'm at the Urban Book & Music Expo in Dearborn, Michigan, I'll be doing some things (a lot of things) in Chicago, I'm coming to Texas in October so be on the lookout and also doing the Wagfest in Cinncinati, Ohio as well in October.

of course there's my conference in November and then taking a big break in December as usual.

Busy writing the post for today because something comes next in this scene and Reese intrigues me.

1st Chapter EXCERPT

Now I know many of you have never read a Heart story and a lot of you do ask me, who's related to whom.
I have been slowly working on a family chart and there are a lot of books with Hearts in it.
First you should know Lethal Heart. He's kind of the king of the family. Most of the Heart's of Detroit surround around him and are on his side. There's a large family beef which is going to be put on the table once again between Lethal and King Heart, who is out of Chicago. The oldest out of all the cousins and of course the most difficult to get a hold on. I don't even like to be in his head sometimes because of what goes through there. (Yeah, I know I sound looney for an author, but you have to be if you want to keep up with the hearts.) With Lethal's long time experience in the army - his clearance is so secret and his power is all known, he could arrange to have tea with the President of the United States by nightfall and have secretly been linked to wiping out Saddam Husseium's personal army - by himself. He's classified as a weapons expert and bull-eye master. He left the army as one of the youngest highest ranking official, but worked for the government until he was 27 in secret missions, double agent assignments and even deep cover operations. He's never failed to anyone's knowledge...yet.
After Lethal, the secondary famous one is: Onyx Heart.
She's Lethal's little sister and about the only woman who he has deep respect for since their mother is dead. She's also the only woman and person, who could physically kick Lethal's ass. Onyx joined the army but decided not to make a long career of it like her brother. Although the government has classified her body as a lethal weapon since she is second to know in hand to hand combat, taking out men ten times her size of five foot four. Never a happy camper with peace and happiness for others, she loves chaos and if she has a chance to get her nose in things she will do it.
Fan favorites are:
Blaque Heart
She appeared only in Teach Me to Love, but is a thorn in Onyx's side and they'll eventually have it out in the love story surrounding Onyx, which you guys have yet to figure out who I'm hooking her up with although one reader was almost close). Black is a mercenary, but because of her beef with Onyx, she's not too keen to come on American soil unless the price is right. Blaque is the Heart's of Chicago's youngest member.
King Heart (first appeared in Sin's Iniquity and mentioned heavily in Sex Weed)
Moved to Chicago after getting on Lethal's bad side and won't step foot in Detroit, because Lethal's last words were if he did, he won't get the other foot in before his heart stopped beating.
Another to side with King and cause the great riff in the family were Queen, his second in command to his black market business and sister. She's also a lesbian and not a very nice woman. Word on the street is that he's a homosexual, but we'll see.
Queen Heart (first appeared in Sin's Iniquity and then in Sex Weed)
Even though she'd take a bullet for her brother and if he orders it she'd do it, she and Onyx were always good cohorts so they never allow their brother's riff to get between their friendship, nor is
Queen upset that Onyx wants to kill her little sister - they just never talk about it.
There's also Mandingo (first appeared in Sin's Iniquity and then heavily in His Substitute Wife), Sheriff Heart (has his own book called Baby Doll and his King's half brother), Red Heart (has his own book Red Heart and appears in Emperor's Addiction). Smaller ones are Delicious (nicknamed Del who appears in Tanner's Devil), Salacious (nicknamed Sal, who appears in Dark Facade) and even Treasure (Del's sister and serves as his tongue, who makes an appearance in Tanner's Devil).
To see the listing of books with Hearts in them and to catch up on all the family's gripes, go to:
If I'm missing one, please let me know or chime in on the board. I'm not perfect. These stories are available in ebook and/or paperback.

Feeling Pretty Good - Got a new review! Thanks!

Sylvia is in a good mood today.

Sick as a dog, because I’m still sick from the pneumonia
and feeling nauseated from all the medicine their giving me, but when I went on
Amazon today I got a review on my newest title,
Secrets, Lies and Family Ties.

5.0 out of 5 starsSylvia does it again., May 21, 2008

J. McNeil
(Baltimore,
MD USA) -
See
all my reviews

Full of drama and suspense, Sylvia Hubbard's "Secrets, Lies &
Family Ties" is sure to be a fast paced read. All of the characters are
highly entertaining (especially those twins Jerome and Tyrone from Mistaken
Identity
) and the chemistry between Grae and Ezekiel is undeniable. However,
their road to happiness is lined with people out for revenge including Ezekiel's
best friend. I can't really say too much without giving away the entire story,
but all of the twists and turns (and sex scenes) in this book make it a highly
enjoyable read.

DID YOU SEE ALL THE
STARS?!!!

OMG!!!

So I’m really happy about now. On top of that,
I’m looking at all these radio stations and trying to get set up.

I’ve gotten three interviews for July on my own.
It’s kinda fun being your own publicist.

I’m still heavily dependent on you guys, though so
keep passing the word.

Another reason to my happiness is that,
CABIN FEVER
is now available on Amazon. If you don’t know what
that book is, then you need to look at the end of Secrets, Lies & Family
Ties for it.

J. McNeil,, you just won yourself a free copy of it.
Email me at HubBooks@yahoo.com
and I’ll ship you a copy. Also, I still owe a copy to one of my avid fans but
I can’t remember who it was. I wanna say Carmel, but I could be wrong.

I
guess I'm happy bcause i send out so many emails and just knowing that someone
really went and added a good review was so well worth the work it takes to send
out the emails.

I'm
deeply grateful.

Going
back to work. Have a good day and I hope more of you post to the amazon site for
more reviews.
