Darine Davis

with AAMBC Spring Virtual Tours

Bayou Drama tells of various stories with twist and turns so addictive you are drawn in from the begining.

Darine Davis is the author of Bayou Drama and When A Good Man Goes Bad.  Born in Shreveport, LA he moved to Texas when he was a toddler. He lived in Greenville, TX for eight years of his life where his mother's family resides. After his mother's divorce, they moved to Houston where he lived with his aunts and cousins. Prior to graduating from high school, he joined the Navy under a split trainer program where he did boot camp the summer after his eleventh grade year, graduated from North Shore High School and returned to the Navy. After an eight year stint in the military, he left under honorable conditions and pursued his education earning two associate degrees at Houston Community College and bachelors in Information Systems at University of Houston – Victoria. He is currently married and has two children who he cherishes dearly. He has always wanted a true family and feels he has that in his wife and children. His writing is inspired by life and intense imagination. His country humor and controversial topics invoke thought provoking topics that will engulf the reader into the world of the character and the situations posed in the stories he develop.

Bayou Drama is a collection of five short stories that deal with the all too familiar issues of unsolicited drama we all tend to encounter. These stories will make you laugh, cry, and in some cases may make you a bit angry at the actions these characters take in certain situations.
When all said and done. Darine assures me  the stories  will make you look at your own situation and how we handle our own drama in our current situations.

If You Were My Man.... If I Were Your Woman....New Release by Francis Ray & ebook by Sylvia Hubbard

Rawsistaz.com released one of my favorite author's book review: If You Were My Man by Francis Ray.

I became a fan of hers shortly after my Donna Hill addiction and I've already put this in my Amazon TBR que very excited by her new release.

Rafael Dunlap is a successful hostage negotiator with the Myrtle Beach police department.  He has the reputation of being a lady's man; however, he's yet to meet one he's willing to give his heart to.  While on an outing at a local seafood restaurant with coworkers, he has the pleasure of meeting the owner, Natalyia Fontaine.  He insists on asking her out on a date; when she turns him down he's determined to get her to change her mind.  In his determination, he learns lessons in love he never knew existed.

Natalyia Fontaine is the owner of Fontaine's, a seafood restaurant that is a favorite to residents of Myrtle Beach.  She inherited the restaurant years earlier after her husband passed away.  Her number one priority always is and will be to ensure the restaurant's success.  While making her usual nightly rounds with patrons she meets Rafael Dunlap who proceeds to ask her out.  When she refuses, the last thing she expects is his persistence.  She soon realizes that resisting his charm is more difficult than she first imagined and thatshe too is in for lessons in love she never knew existed.

Natalyia and Rafael's story is told with passion, elegance and grace by Ms. Ray.  I enjoyed the updates on other characters from the series and the introduction of a couple new characters.  I hope Ms. Ray will introduce us to another fascinating series as she concludes the Invincible Women's series with IF I WERE YOUR MAN.

In addition to this, you know with ebook week coming along, I'm highlighting the small wonders I don't believe a lot of my fans know about.

I wrote IF I WERE YOUR WOMAN as a challenge on Donna Hill's board to her new release with the same name.

I enjoyed the story so much that I made it available as a digital download to my readers.

Throughout the book–which takes place in one day–Jessa Bell also recalls her steamy relationship with her unidentified lover.  Everything about their explicit romps are revealed from the day she first seduced him up until the day he agreed to leave his wife–her friend–for her.

Erica Martin is a Cincinnati native but was raised in Detroit. In her early school days, she soon developed a love for reading and writing. That passion soon began to show in her writing, as she began to win various awards and recognition in creative writing contest, in elementary and middle school. Erica started writing short stories and poems in hopes of one day compiling them all into a book. She was the Feature editor of her high school newspaper and held hopes of one day becoming a script writer for one of the local television stations. After high school she enrolled at Wayne State University where she majored in Journalism. She has two sons, Gary (14) and Demetrius a.k.a. Mookie (7) who are the driving force in her life.

After much prodding and encouragement from her family and friends she finished and published her first fictional novel, Second Time Shame on Me. Which is a fictional novel based in Detroit that follows the friendship of four women and their quest to learn the lesson behind the old adage, "First time shame on you. Second time shame on me."She followed up with the March 2005 release of her second novel, Serenity Place. Which depicts a day in the life of the colorful staff of the fictional day spa, Serenity Place, a day spa in Chicago. In 2006 she released Straight with no Chaser, the sequel to Second Time Shame on me. Straight picks up where the girls left off. Mya is back home safe and sound and the other girls can't be happier. But will the past come back to haunt them? In this fastpaced pageturner, Erica gives it to you raw and uncut. If you didn't learn the lesson in Second Time Shame on me, she's giving it to you straight with no chaser in this one! Look for her next release, Destiny Interrupted, co-authored with author Greg Jones, in January of 2008. She is also a featured author in the AIDS based anthology Shattered Glass Effect, set for a 2008 release as well.

She founded Second Time Media & Communications, a publishing service in 2004 to help other writers become self-published authors in the most economical and efficient way. To date Second Time has published 11 titles and are working on several more. (Please see the Contact Us tab for more info on Second Time Media & Communications).
