A Little Bit of Sin - Chapter 14.2

Before you read another word, can you please check the note i made at the top of the story blog. www.sylviahubbard.blogspot.com (I'll also post it to my wordpress blog as well, just in case too.)

I thought I should note these for new and old readers who are getting into the story, but I didn't want you wrapped up in the details and to also let you know i'm aware of these "flukes."

I never profess to be perfect! I know I'm going to mess up and I love that you all point those mistakes out before they get too confusing.

If I've missed some more flukes, could you let me know.

on to this chapter notes....

This was a hard chapter.

Colin has to come to a tough decision.

In his mind he knows there's no way (or he doesn't think in reality) a woman like Synthia would be falling over herself over him.

She's just too beautiful and she's high maintenance and she's black.

So if you're going to ask me why does he have to be so mean, well, his life isn't about finding that woman of his dreams. He's rarely had nice things happen to him and he really doesn't believe he deserves a woman like Synthia.

But I... (and this is all my opinion so don't apply it to the story). ... I think it's Synthia who doesn't deserve Colin.

Sure he was a bad person in the past, but he's not the same person he was and that's what she wants to believe but ...

oh... it's gets complicated now and you're really really really not going to like me.

But if you're an old reader, you know I just like to throw Shyte at people because and the more I mess them up the more wonderful it MIGHT BE when i decide to fix the mess, ha ha ha.

just like i'm messing with you now.

Gawd, i got some adrenaline pumping.

And yes, you're getting another chapter part right after the first one.

Got a new Jornada to play with on the bus that i can type out my thoughts real quick. Actually I punch it with the stick and though it comes out like computer chicken scratch that my spell checker goes crazy once I upload it to the computer, it's cool and helps me to get you the story faster.

So if there's something you don't understand, blame it on the the dang potholes in the city of detroit that was messing me up when i was trying to type.

ENJOY....

When she still seemed determine to believe what she felt, he thought clarifying the tattoo would be enough, but it hadn’t. Even with the lie he had forced out that even now left a sickening feeling in his gut, she was still indomitable about his feelings toward her.

Colin needed to be drastic in his own determination to get her away from him, so he got the file that he knew would prove to her without a doubt what kind of person he wanted her to believe he was.

Colin heard the desolate tone in Jason’s voice. He knew this would definitely make her stay away from him, but when she joined her brother to see what he was pointing at Colin was a little confused as to why they seemed suddenly familiar to what they were reading.

The abruptness of being punched dead square in the eye sent him over the desk and to the floor.

“Get the fuck up, you racist son of a bitch!” Jason seethed through clenched teeth. “I’ve been waiting ten years and I’m going to beat you within an inch of your fucking miserable life with my bare hands. Get the fuck up!!”

Colin got to his feet with his hands up. “I don’t wish to fight ya.” The brother had a gun and Colin was not a fool. He’d heard this kind of vicious anger in many voices once they thought he was who they thought he was.

Jason punched him on the other side of his face, rocking Colin’s teeth, but he was about a good sixty pounds over Jason and this second one only knocked him to teeter a little back since he was expecting it.

Despite what she knew about Colin now, she wasn’t going to allow her brother to beat up on this guy who didn’t look like he was going to fight back. Punching him though wasn’t going to suffice

Jason’s current rage and she had no doubt he would eventually remember he could use the gun for more than just protection.

Plus, Colin looked like he could really pummel her brother if he really wanted to and most likely would if he knew his life was in danger.

Despite everything she certainly didn’t want either man to end up in the hospital.

Jumping in front of Colin, she stopped Jason from taking another blow to the man.

“Move, Synthia. I’m going to kill this sorry son of a bitch!” Jason warned.

“No, you’re not,” she protested.

“He helped killed her!” Jason raged.

Synthia turned to Colin and that hurt that wallowed through her beautiful brown eyes tore at his gut. He refused to explain anything, because he knew that no matter what he said they wouldn’t believe him. However they connected him to what happened to the past and how they knew “her” he wasn’t going to ask either. It was best he left it like they thought it should be.

It was best for Synthia because he was not caring about her and wanting her too damn much.
Synthia slowly turned away from him disappointed he had not said anything. “I know, Jason, but you aren’t going to jail. I need you too much.” Walking towards him, she kept her brother’s focus on her. “Trisha is dead and there’s nothing we can do to bring her back. And although there would be a lot of satisfaction felt right now for killing this bastard, I’m too selfish to lose you right now.”

Wrapping her arms around her brother, Synthia continued sympathetically, “I miss her as much as you, but everyone reaps what they have sown, Jay, and you are not going to take his sorry his life.” Kissing her brother’s cheek, coxing him to calm down, she hugged him tighter. “We’ve both held our emotions away since she died. We’ve both been in silent pain and we’ve done some stupid things because of that. Maybe that’s what led me… what got me here.” It was difficult for her to talk and tears clouded her vision. “We’ve both in our own way changed, but we need to finally heal and just never think about this again. Please.” Gathering herself together, she said desperately, “Take me away from here, Jason. I’m sorry. Please.”Jason nodded and they walked out together, neither looking back at Colin.

I knew sooner then later, the sh** was going to hit the fan. Now that Syn knows the truth I think Colin is going to be the one to go after her. It's going to be a switch.
