hey y'all
I had to really clear my plate this morning and I apologize on the hatred.
Um... some of you wanna know when i'm going back to Colin's POV.
Some of you wanna know when Colin and Syn are gonna get back together.
I'm causing trouble so bear with me.
More back story and clues.
I like Grace too, but she can cut a man with her tongue. Gotta make sure I set up her man just right to cause her a lot of cutting and a lot of havoc.
hint hint: he's in this book and that's all I got to say about that.
Also, I'm about to introduce Taylor Bellini so get ready!
enjoy...

Grace could be brutal, just like Trisha, but they were always honest, which could account for the amount of friends they have or had.
Synthia remembered a lot of times, Katrina staying away for long periods of time when Trisha was her most vicious to anyone and everyone. For some reason, Trisha didn’t seem that harsh in Synthia’s case. She was always her voice of reason and her reality check, but they had known each other for so long, it was like most times her sarcastic honesty just went in one ear and out the other. Trisha kept in reality. Synthia had needed that growing up and not become too consumed by her own face or the fact that her mother showed jealousy for her.
Driving over to a very out of date garage in Grace’s brand new Ford Focus, Synthia flinched wishing she had dressed in her good shoes because even as she stepped out it was hard not to step around the crude on the ground.
“Your car can’t be broke,” said a black man in his sixties. He was about six feet in height and he looked at the car with more interest than at her. She saw he had a dirty wedding ring on his finger and he was trying to clean his hands with a filthy rag, but it looked like he was adding more grime than he was taking off.
“No, it’s not. I’m here to ask about Colin?” she asked.
He finally gave her his full black eyed look and narrowed them until she couldn’t see his pupil, as if he couldn’t believe what he was looking at. Her presence had also started to draw the attention of his employees that were in the rear working on other cars.
“What’cha want with him?” the man asked. “He ain’t here, lady. And he certainly don’t
work on no new cut ride like that.”
“I’m not looking for work, but this is where he works?”
The man started to get suspicious, but he couldn’t stop looking at her face and body. “Yeah. He ain’t here though cause he was working late last night.”
Someone started drilling loudly in the back.
“Is there an office I can speak with you in?” She had to yell this request.
He waved for her to follow him into a back office filled with paperwork and more grime. Synthia didn’t sit in the chair he offered and choose to just stand. Once the door was closed, it was a little quieter.
Now she knew why Colin had smelled like he had. The stench was everywhere and Synthia had to swallow the bile several times before she spoke again.
“I just needed some information on Colin. Can you help me?” she asked.
He didn’t answer, but the frown on his face increased.
“I’ll make it worth your time,” she insisted feeling uncomfortable under his glare and opened up her purse to pay him something.
“I don’t want your money, lady, but if Colin ain’t fixing your car, what do you want him for?” the man insisted to know.
“We met a couple of days ago and I find him intriguing.” She didn’t know how else to put it.
“Unfortunately, I can’t find much about him.”
“There ain’t much to know. He comes to work and goes home. Sometimes he may go to the bar
across the street to drink with the boys, get a lap dance from one of the girls, but he don’t’ stay long. Ain’t too sociable, so I find it hard to believe he met the likes of you.”
“It was an unconventional circumstance.”
“I’ll believe a blue moon before I believe that bunch of malarkey, lady.”
She didn’t really understand that bit, but she didn’t press the subject. His slang was giving her a headache and she wondered how the hell had Colin put up with the way this man spoke and did this man know Colin was a past racist? Obviously not because the man seemed to have some kind of respect for him. “How long has he worked here?” She took out a piece of gum and put it in her mouth to ward off the nausea and then offered him a piece.
To her surprise, he took the offered stick. After opening it with his grubby hands, he stuffed it in his mouth. “Five or six years, but he ain’t gonna be working here long.”
The candy must have loosened his tongue because he relaxed a little more than he had been.
“Why is that?” she asked.
“He done found someone to sign off on the loan he needed to buy some old place to open up his shop over on the Westside. He been pheening for that place forever.” He spouted off the address quickly and she was glad she could pick up his street lingo almost okay despite the headache he was giving her because he flubbed over sounds and mumbled a lot of things. The gum made it worse, but she wasn’t about to tell him to spit it out when it made him so amiable to her questions.
“That would be Ms. Barlett helping him right?” she questioned.
It was his turn to look surprise that she knew, as he nodded and that increased his comfortable level around her. “To be honest, you don’t look like the type he’d be into. I seen him look at those girls at the club and he passes over any dark skin beauties like they don’t exist.”
This further confused her about Colin, but she didn’t show her disquiet. “What do you know about him from the past? His… his friends? Family?”
He shrugged. “Like I said, he comes to work and he goes home. Ain’t seen no friends or family about.”
“And does he show animosity to you?”
The man stiffened and was back to frowning again. “I think you better go, ma’am.”
She knew the question probably had been out of line, but it meant a lot to her. This guy was most likely his boss and he would know him better than she did, but she knew if she pressed it, he’d get really guarded and maybe even mean like Colin had.
Stiffening up herself, she nodded. “Thank you for your time.”
When she started to leave to office, the man said in a low deep growl, “I don’t know who you are and right now, I don’t care, but whatever you want with him, if it ain’t gonna change the price of tea in China and it ain’t bout business, just let it go. That boy don’t need anything else messing him up. You hear?”
She didn’t look back or even acknowledge she had heard him.
A cold chill suddenly went down her spine and she just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.

I agree with Tori too from that last post... I think/hope/can prolly guess where you're going with Grace's story line... I think.. Wow.. I was kinds confused cuz at first it just sounded like Colin's parents were just racists but then you talk about the cult they were in. That kinda threw me off cuz I didnt remember you saying that before but I DO know this is coming off the top of that crazy brilliant head you have. And I also agree with cinquetta cuz at first i didnt like this synthia character.. it was somethin a lil off about how she viewed herself. i did like how grace made her aware of her probs though.. i think everyone should have at least 1 friend that's willing to tell you ALL your faults.. QUESTIONS: 1) does colin know that bernard visited the family and offered that money?
2) are their grandparents still alive?
3) does frank's father have anything to do with colin's grandparents' money and land?
** i have a feeling the answers to these questions are all story spoilers but i wanted to ask anyway!!!
I am glad Syn is ok. But I think she just step into bobo. You gave us a hint on Grace story my guess it would be either Bernard or Jason. My guess is Jason and Grace are secretly seeing each other and no one just don't know about it and they did have sex already...lol. Jason just lied to Syn about it. If Grace is going to get with Bernard I don't think he can handle her personality. I think Jason can handle her better then anybody. He acts like he don't take mess from no one including Grace.
Yeah Syn really did think she was the shit. You only let a man go down on you and just jack him off a few times. You really think his gonna stay around when theres someone whos ready willing and able to give him what he needs. Syn booboo you was living in a bubble for real.
